Meet some of the politics, criticism and the frustrations of a music producer. Oh the things we do for love of music. Shoutout to producer B-Side. You did a fantastic job remaking the track. It must be rough to have one of your influences diss you. I like your positivity, congrats on the major release! I hope this young generation will listen to the music. Shoutout to Lupe for again taking a another bold step. A double album in the fall 2012!? Gosh I know the labels are not happy with you right now. May God be with you.

Today marks the 78th anniversary of Moog’s birth. He is the man behind the synthesizer that has shaped modern music today. This instrument eventually led to what we call dubstep.

foolishpen asked: Hey Timothy, you're a huge inspiration man. I'm an aspiring MC that just recently got into making beats for my own rhymes and lyrics. Your beats are great and I'm feeling a lot of good vibes and inspirations from it. Just wanted to ask how you got started with Logic Pro 9. I'm planning on buying it and using it but I just wanted to know where to start off and how to start learning about the program. Thanks!

Thank you for your kind words foolishpen. It means a lot. Before using Logic I used Reason. I switched to Logic because back in 2009 Reason did not have live audio recording features. I remember switching back and forth between Cubase and Reason to record. It slowed down my workflow. Later on a friend of mine introduced me to Logic and I ran with it since.

Regarding learning, I learn mostly through collaboration, books and online videos. My friend Adam from I’m A Music Mogul is a great teacher.

The folks at Wink Sound Studios are also very friendly and informative.

If you’re looking for something physical to hold, composer and producer David Nahmani help created a great Logic Pro training series book. It also includes a CD! You can now get certified!

Happy cooking,

Timothy

Latin music is taking over my music library. As a result I am slowly blending elements of it into production.

Springtime is here and I decided to share my joy with you all on this track.

Le Pianoquarium
“To feel the musing, listen to LOUD Music, Resound with many deafening colours, A firework ricochets off your sounds, Flood your soul, splash all your walls, Bathe your eyes and suffuse your ears, Skim your poetries to bounce your wild ideas, Let the light strike your sensitive cord, To feel the musing, listen to LOUD music.”

Over the weekend, I visited a Cathedral in Spain and this sparked the quick creation of this musical piece.
